Pineapple O Bedtime Ritual
Pineapple O Bedtime Ritual is a site-reactive performance art piece that explores stillness, movements and boundaries. It involves elements of breaths, sound, music, poetry, sculpture and improvisation. Performers meeting for the first time improvise their movements together in real time by folding/unfolding a comforter (84" x 72") and fitting their bodies on it, forming organic shaped human sculptures. The poses are held for a few breaths of time as a collective meditation and for documentation and appreciation.
The art piece was inspired by my childhood bedtime ritual, something I used to do late at night in private. It was my first attempt to experience self-love, self-care and listen to my inner voice.
